College Issues

Objectives: Explore and discuss possible first year college issues students’ will be confronted with, including the “Freshman 15”, fraternities, binge drinking, positive decision making, individuation, financial, interpersonal relationships, time management, student activism, studying abroad, Resident Assistants, money and responsibility, and extracurricular activities.

Activities: Students will research various college issues, discuss and present issues to peers and evaluate possible pit falls and solutions to perceived problems.

Assessment: Students will be assessed through a written critique of the specific current college issue they are researching, as well as their knowledge of subject area and ability to answer related questions, utilizing critical thinking.
